Secure Your Data (Life)

Practicing what you preach is not as easy as it is when you preach. In the digital age, our lives have been compressed into tiny little contraptions, and since we do not leave our valuables in the open, but keep them under lock and key, it is almost oxymoronic of us to leave our mobile devices without adequate passwords.
It is somewhat inconvenient, but a very little price to pay to safeguard your precious data, which may as well be the key to all of your valuables - intellectual or physical properties.
I suggest you activate a password, lock code, PIN, pass phrase, or whatever is appropriate on your mobile devices - dumb phones, feature phones, smart phones, tablets, netbooks, laptops and your desktop computers.
The reason you employ the use of passwords for your online accounts, is to prevent unauthorized access and by inference, your computerized devices should not be exempted. In the event that your device gets stolen, you can be rest assured that your data cannot be accessed and you can restore to a new device from the back-up you have created.
This brings us to the issue of back-up, it is highly essential to have a copy of all your data somewhere safe, so that you can always revert to it in the event of a loss or related mishaps. Using a computer to back-up your data is the most common of the lot; however, some manufacturers provide means for your to back-up your data on their servers, and while this may sound fishy, it is actually very safe and easy to access.
The first thing to do when you get a new device is to back-up all the data on it, second is to put a password on it and you can choose to perform a daily, weekly, or monthly back-up, whatever you're comfortable with.
